Women’s Basketball Secures Dominant Victory Over Sussex
Paramus, NJ– The Bergen Community College Bulldogs Women's Basketball team celebrated a commanding 69-48 victory over the Sussex WBB Club Team in an impressive performance at home. The Bulldogs showcased their growing chemistry and determination, earning their first win of the season.
Sophomore forward Jacqueline Caraballo stole the show with a dominant double-double, scoring a game-high 27 points and pulling down an incredible 16 rebounds. Caraballo's relentless effort on both ends of the court helped establish Bergen's presence in the paint, where the Bulldogs outscored Sussex 38-14.
Ariana Garo also played a pivotal role, contributing 19 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Mary Palazzo chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds, providing a reliable interior presence. Bergen's defense proved vital, with Ashly Urquia collecting 10 rebounds and adding 3 points off the bench.
The Bulldogs' balanced attack and efficient shooting were evident throughout the game, with the team converting 42.1% of their field goal attempts. Their consistency grew as the game progressed, culminating in a dominant fourth quarter where Bergen outscored Sussex 20-11 to seal the win.

Despite Sussex's efforts, led by Sophia Brondo's 14 points and 9 rebounds, Bergen controlled the tempo and capitalized on second-chance opportunities. The Bulldogs outrebounded Sussex 64-46, demonstrating their physicality and hustle.
