Women’s Basketball Displays Grit in Thrilling Triple-Overtime Battle Against Ocean County College
Paramus, NJ – The Bergen Community College Bulldogs women's basketball team showcased unwavering determination in a marathon game against Ocean County College, ultimately falling 86-83 in a triple-overtime thriller. The nail-biting contest, held at Bergen's home court, highlighted the team's resilience and competitive spirit.
The Bulldogs battled fiercely from the opening tip to the final buzzer, maintaining their composure through three intense overtime periods. Despite a challenging shooting night, Bergen controlled the boards with a dominant 79 rebounds, including 42 offensive boards, keeping them in contention throughout the game.
Jacqueline Caraballo delivered an unforgettable performance, notching a double-double with a game-high 40 points and an astounding 29 rebounds in 55 minutes. Caraballo's relentless energy and scoring touch were pivotal in pushing the Bulldogs to the brink of victory.
Ariana Garo contributed 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Sonja Syla added 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Ashley Urquia Herrera provided a spark with five points and seven rebounds, demonstrating the depth of Bergen's roster.
Ocean County College's Brooke Schmidt proved a tough opponent, leading all scorers with 43 points and securing 20 rebounds to propel her team to victory.
