Paramus, NJ-The Bergen Community College women's volleyball team celebrated a historic victory Wednesday evening, sweeping Ocean County College (25-14, 25-15, 25-20) to capture an undefeated Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) title for the first time since 2012. This remarkable win solidified Bergen's dominant 11-0 record in GSAC play and underscored the Bulldogs' commitment and skill throughout the season.
Angelina Buhler spearheaded Bergen's attack with 8 kills and a solid .211 hitting percentage, backed by standout performances from Gyanna Hernandez, who posted 6 kills, 9 digs, and 3 service aces. Addy Matos added to the Bulldogs' front-row strength with 5 kills and 3 blocks, finishing the match with a .300 hitting percentage.
Bergen's team effort extended beyond offense, as they totaled 51 digs and 6 blocks, demonstrating both defensive resilience and cohesive teamwork. Setter Ariana Garo was instrumental, recording 11 assists and 4 kills, while Jenelly Jimenez anchored the back row with a team-high 18 digs.
