Volleyball Dominates Atlantic Cape in Straight Sets Victory
Paramus, NJ -Bergen Community College's women's volleyball team put on an impressive display on Saturday, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over Atlantic Cape Community College in an afternoon matchup at home. The Bulldogs were relentless in their pursuit, winning each set by wide margins, 25-14, 25-12, and 25-19, to continue their strong start to the season.
The Bulldogs' offense was led by stellar performances from outside hitters Gyanna Hernandez and Angelina Buhler. Hernandez, a consistent force, tallied 7 kills on 22 attempts, adding 5 service aces and 13 digs to her stat line. Buhler matched Hernandez's offensive output with 7 kills of her own, while also contributing 2 service aces and 10 digs.
Setter Angela Korca orchestrated the offense beautifully, dishing out 12 assists, while Ariana Garo also made her presence felt, adding 6 kills on 12 attempts with an impressive .250 hitting percentage. Valentina Botero was another standout for Bergen, contributing 6 kills and maintaining a hitting percentage of .417.
Defensively, the Bulldogs were solid, with a total of 57 digs, effectively neutralizing Atlantic Cape's attack.
The victory moves Bergen Community College to a stronger position in the region, as they prepare to build on this momentum heading into their next match.
Bergen's women's volleyball team will look to continue their winning streak as they face off against Dutchess Community College in a non conference game on Wednesday.
