Volleyball Defeats Ocean County College in Four Sets, Improving to 5-1 Overall and 5-0 in the GSAC
Toms River, NJ — The Bergen Community College women's volleyball team continued their winning streak on Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over Ocean County College. This latest win brings the Bulldogs to an impressive 5-1 overall and 5-0 in the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC), further establishing their dominance in the league.
After dropping the first set 25-23, the Bulldogs rallied to win the next three sets 25-22, 25-23, and 25-20, showcasing resilience and teamwork. The match saw standout performances from several Bergen players.
Gyanna Hernandez led the team with 12 kills and added 3 service aces, while Angelina Buhler contributed 10 kills and 1 ace. Setter Angela Korca orchestrated the offense with 13 assists and 1 service ace, keeping the Bulldogs' attack efficient. Libero Jenelly Jimenez anchored the defense with 22 digs and 5 service aces, helping Bergen control the pace of the game. The team's collective defensive effort totaled 82 digs, frustrating Ocean County's attempts to mount a comeback.
Ocean County College fought hard throughout the match, with Jordan Motyka leading their attack with 18 kills, but Bergen's balanced offense and solid defensive play proved too much for the Vikings.
