Branchburg, NJ -The Bergen Community College women's volleyball team opened their season with a dominant performance, securing a straight-set victory over Raritan Valley Community College (25-16, 25-18, 25-14) on August 28 at the Branchburg campus.
The Bulldogs, led by standout performances from several key players, demonstrated their prowess on both offense and defense. Gyanna Hernandez was a force on the court, racking up 10 kills, 2 service aces, and an impressive 12 digs, contributing 10.0 points to Bergen's total. Angelina Buhler also played a crucial role, adding 10.5 points with 8 kills, 2 aces, and 12 digs.
Bergen's balanced attack saw multiple players contributing to the team's success. Angela Korca added 2 kills on 6 attempts, while Hailey Peña and Jenelly Jimenez were strong in defensive efforts, with Peña adding a service ace to her tally. Addy Matos made her mark as well, with 4 kills and 1 block assist, contributing 5.5 points to the victory.
