Final Day at Nationals
Women's Track & Field finishes strong at NJCAA National Meet.
Paramus, NJ - Bergen's Women's Track & Field team finished strong in the final day at the 2017 NJCAA DIII National Meet. The team finished tied for 8th place with 31 points. The 8th place finish was a huge jump from last year's 19th place finish at nationals. There were a lot of great finishes which led to NJCAA All-American and USTFCCCA All-Americans honors.
Camille Calupad Camille leaped a distance of 2.81 meters (BCC school record) in the Pole Vault event to earn her first place finish and First Team 2017 NJCAA DIII All-American and USTFCCCA All-American. She is the first Pole Vaulter in the history of Bergen Community College to finish a champion in the Pole Vault event.
Congrats to Justine Conca who finished in 4th place in the 10,000m, 5000m and 1500m races and earned her USTFCCCA All-American in all three races.
The 4X800 Meter Relay team, Amanda Duran, Melissa Duran, Faega Fostok and Jessica Reyes, finished in 7th place with a time of 12.59.12 and earned them each USTFCCCA All-American.
On the final day, Katherine Helewa finished in 5th place in the Shot Put event with a distance of 9.50 meters, which earned her USTFCCA All-American.
Bergen had some bright spots all season. The team will miss strong leaders in sophomores Camille Calupad, Amanda Duran & Melissa Duran, the Athletic Department wishes them the best in their future endeavors. Go Bulldogs!!!
