Women's Team Qualify for 2017 NJCAA National Meet
Bergen's Women's Team is headed to the 2017 NJCAA National Meet on May 11-13 at Howard CC in Columbia, Maryland.
Paramus, NJ - Bergen's Women's Track & Field team has qualified for nationals. Women's Team is headed to the 2017 NJCAA National Meet on May 11-13 at Howard CC in Columbia, Maryland.
The team has some high hopes this year, because of a strong crop of freshman and three strong sophomores. Sophomore, Camille Calupad (Paramus, NJ) will be turning some heads in the Pole Vault event. Camille is currently ranked #1 in the nation in the Pole Vault. Freshman, Justine Conca (Nutley, NJ) also will be looking to impress at nationals. Justine is top 10 in the nation going into the national tournament in the 1500m (10th), 5000m (4th) & 10,000m (2nd).
The 4X800 Relay team is also looking to make some noise at nationals. Justine Conca, Amada Duran (Hackensack, NJ), Melissa Duran (Hackensack, NJ), Jessica Reyes (Cliffside Park, NJ) & Faega Fostok (Wayne, NJ) are currently ranked 4th in the nation with a time of 11:34.27.
Freshman, Katherine Helewa (Cresskill, NJ) has a strong chance in the Shot Put and Discuss events. Katherine is currently ranked 4th in the nation in the Shot Put and 10th in the nation in the discus.
