Bergen wrestling team finishes 2nd at the Gulf Atlantic District Wrestling Championships

Scranton, PA.– The Bergen wrestling team finished 2nd at the Gulf Atlantic District Wrestling Championships. 
 
Freshman Brian Vargas was named most outstanding wrestler for the tournament after going an impressive 3-0 on the mat and winning the 141-pound weight class. 
 
Cole Pfeufer followed Vargas's lead winning all three of his matches and winning the 165-pound weight class.  
 
Marin Matthews advanced to the finals and lost a tough match at 191 pounds.  Jalin Badillo finished 3rd in the 184-pound weight class.  
 

What's Next- 

Vargas, Pfeufer, and Matthews will be joined by Natalia Moreles as they travel to the NJCAA National Championships in Iowa on March 1st.
