Softball Splits with Ocean
Bergen splits double header with Ocean 8-3 and 8-6.
Paramus, NJ - Bergen Softball team traveled to Ocean County College on Sunday, for a double header. Bergen won the first game 8-3, but lost the second game 8-6. Bergen is now 3-5 in the region and 4-9 overall.
First game of the double header, Madison Heck pitched a complete game for her fourth win of the year. She allowed three runs and struck out 10 batters. The offense was led by Madison Kolich, who went 2-2 with a run, RBI, two BB and a triple. Giovanna Dandeneau went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Hannah Christensen went 2-4 with a run scored.
Second game of the double header, Madison Heck pitched a complete game, but was touched up by Ocean bats in the first inning, allowing 6 runs. Madison settled down and kept Bergen in the game the rest of the way. Bergen came back late in the game, but fell short. Offense was led by, Ariana Bravo, with went 2-3 with 2 runs, 2 RBI and a big base clearing double. Giovanna Dandeneau went 2-3 with run and a BB. Madison Kolich added a base clearing triple.
Bergen will now host Sussex on Tuesday, April 16 at 3:30pm.
