Softball Sweeps Sussex
Bergen defeated Sussex 11-5 and 12-4.
Paramus, NJ - On Sophomore Day, Bergen picked up two wins and made it three in a row. They defeated Sussex 11-5 in the frist game and 12-4 in the second game.
The team celebrated their one only sophomore, Linzi Reginald, between games. She did not disappoint as Linzi pitched and won the first game. She pitched 7 innings and gave up 2BB , 2ER, 4R, 9 hits and 8 strikeouts. She also hit a solo shot in the first game.
After Linzi hit her third homerun of the year, Danielle Sibilio followed with homerun to go back to back. For Danielle, the homerun was her second of the year. Jamie Pines had a gone 2-4 with double, stolen base, two runs and RBI. Shaansa Sanders went 2-4 with a triple, two runs and three RBI. Danaisia King and Nicole Fernandez each had two hits.
In the second game, Linzi won her fifth game of the year and is now 5-5. Jamie Pines continued her hot hitting by going 2-4 with 2 doubles, 3 runs and 3 RBI. Shaaysa Sanders 2-4 double, with two runs and two RBI. Destiny Navarro had gone 2-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Danaisia King went with one run and one RBI. Danielle Sibilio went 2-4 with a run scored and RBI Linzi Reginald continued to lead the offense going 1-4 with two runs and two RBI. Samanth Pilkin had two walks and scored a run. Claudette Alcober had a sac bunt to help the team rally. Kaetlynn Ayala pitched two strong innings to start the game.
Bergen will now take on Cumberland CC on Saturday, April 23 beginning at 12:00pm.
