PARAMUS, NJ- Sophomore Nick Alvarez walked off the Bergen baseball team against the Might Oaks of Salem County College, on Monday evening.
Bergen 14, Salem 13
- The Bulldogs got off to a quick start plating three in the second inning, on the back of back-to-back doubles from Ian Scalabrini and Enger Ortiz. Dee Rice singled in two runs to cap the inning.
- In the top of the fourth, the Might Oaks took a 9-3, scoring 7 runs on 2 hits and 3 Bergen errors.
- Bergen would begin their comeback in the 7th scoring 2 runs on a Nick Alvarez fielder's choice, driving in Scalabrini and Ortiz.
- In the bottom of the 8th the Bulldogs plated another 4 runs starting with a Danny Ramos double that drove in Carlos Pascual who reached on a Salem error.
- Needing four runs to tie and five to win in the bottom of the ninth, the Bulldogs were able to bring six hitters to the plate scoring 4 before Salem recorded an out.
- Alvarez capped off the comeback with a single to right field that scored Sacalrbini
