Bergen Splits DH with Union

PARAMUS, NJ- It was a tale of two games as the Bulldogs won the first game 15-3 over the Owls. In the nightcap Bergen would give up a large early lead and rally late but it was not enough at Union prevailed 6-8.
Game One: Bergen 15, Union 3
- Bergen jumped out in the bottom of the first with SAC fly by Steven Peralta to score Adorian Rice and to take a 1-0 lead.
- In the second and thrid innings Bergen would fours runs to take a 9-1 lead. They would add 2 in the 4th and another 4 spot in the 5th.
- Sophomore first baseman Ian Scalabrini went 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI's including a homerun.
- Mike Quinn drove in 3 runs for the Bulldogs
- Rice went 2-for-4, scored 2 runs and added 2 RBI's
- Aran Basaran with 5 niings striking out 4, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits to secure the win.
Game Two: Bergen 6, Union 8
- The road team cracked the scoreboard in the top of the first scoring 6 runs, on 3 hits and 1 Bergen error.
- The Bulldog would use two pichers in the first ining.
- Two and a half innings would go by before Elvis Felix would score Enger Ortiz on a fielders choice.
- Bergen score once again in the 4th when Carlos Pascual singled in Danny Ramos.
- The Bulldogs scored two in the sixth and threatend in the 7th scoring 2 more but were not able to overcame the early deficit
