Paramus, NJ - Last Sunday, freshmen Aryed Garcia & Jeremie Torres both break the single season record for strikeouts in a season! In Game 1 Aryed Garcia broke the record (64) and ended with 69 Strikeouts. Shortly after, his partner, Jeremie Torres broke his record with 70 Strikeouts!!
The season playoff record was previous held by Kyle Van Vliet, who set the previous record in 2011 with 64 strikeouts. Kyle Van Vliet had broken Chris Giblin record of 52 strikeouts which was set in 2007.
Torres is ranked 14th in the nation and A. Garcia is 15th in the nation. Bergen's pitching staff is currently ranked 10th in the nation in strikeouts, with 332 in 42 games.
