Bio

Jorge Hernandez is currently the Managing Director of Athletics.  Jorge has been in the position for twelve years, since February 2011. He began in Fall 2005 as Head Baseball Coach of the Bergen Bulldogs before becoming the athletic director.   He is also the current head softball coach for Bergen Community College for the 2018-19 season.


Coach Hernandez brings over 13 years of experience coaching at the collegiate level. He began his coaching career at Ramapo College (1998-2000) where he had also played (1995-96). Hernandez served as an assistant coach at Rutgers-Newark (2001) and John Jay College (2002-05). He is also the head coach for the North Jersey Eagles in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.

Beginning his baseball career at Teaneck High School (1990-92), Hernandez was awarded the team's 1992 Most Valuable Player Award and All-NJAC honors during his senior year. He played two years at Ramapo College, where he was awarded the team's 1995 Outstanding Player Award and All-NJAC honors after batting .400 for the season. Hernandez's college career also included a stop at Greensboro College (1993-94) in North Carolina, where he was awarded the 1994 Coach's Award.
