Bulldogs Win Opener
Bergen Women win their home opener versus Middlesex.
Paramus, NJ - Women's Basketball team start the season on the high note, after defeating region rivals Middlesex Mustangs, by a score of 60-45. The team look just as strong as last years team, which made the Regiong XIX Final Four. Bulldogs have two strong returners to help the team with the experience from last year's successful run. The two sophomores are Allison Bryan and Anira Calamia.
Bergen won the game with a team effort, but a few student-athletes stood out. One of the them is an international point guard from Colombia, who shined in her first collegiate game, by scoring a team high 26 points, along with 6 steals, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Sophomore center, Anira Calamia (Garfield, NJ), added 13 points and 9 rebounds. Freshman guard, Nicole Gaito (Cliffside Park, NJ), scored 14 points on her first night on the court.
Bergen looks to continue their success when they face Atlantic Cape on Saturday, November 17.
