Bulldogs Sweep Doubleheader
Bergen won the first game of the year 16-0 and won the second game 15-2.
Paramus, NJ – The Lady Bulldogs won their first game of the year by the score of 16-0. They also won the second game of the doubleheader by the score of 15-2. Bergen's record is now 2-4 on the season.
First Game- Linzi Reginald (Lodi, NJ) had an amazing game, pitching a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts. She went 3-4 and hit two homeruns, which included a grand slam. Linzi also doubled, scored four runs and had six RBI.
Catcher, Danielle Sibilio (Fair Lawn), had 2-4 with a double, two runs and five RBI. Shortstop, Jamie Pines (Fair Lawn, NJ) went 2-4 with two run, two RBI and a sacrifice bunt. Second baseman, Jessica Schama (Clifton, NJ) went 3-4 with a double, run scored and a run batted in. First baseman, Perri Brown (Teaneck, NJ) had a stolen base four walks and scored three times. Danaisia King (Fairview, NJ), Destiny Navarro (Teaneck, NJ) and Beliza Sanchez (Jersey City, NJ) all had a hit and a run scored.
Second Game – Destiny Navarro pitched three innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 3 batters. Destiny earned her first win of the year. Kaetlynn Ayala (Lodi, NJ) pitched the last two innings to hold the win. Ayala allowed one run on three hits and strikeout four batters.
Bergen continued with the hot bats, as they scored 15 runs in the second game. Jamie Pines went 1-4 with two runs and a run batted in. Pines also hit her first homerun of the year for the Bulldogs. Linzi Reginald continued to slug the ball as she went 2-4 with three runs scored and two doubles. Danielle Sibilio went 2-4 with a double, four runs scored and four runs batted in. Danaisia King went 2-3 on the day with an RBI. Leadoff hitter, Beliza Sanchez, also went 2-3 with two walks. Leftfielder Shaaysa Sanders (Passaic, NJ) went 1-3 with two runs scored, RBI and a walk. Claudette Alcober (Saddle Brook) had her first hit of the year.
