2016 Men's Cross Country ranked third in the Nation
Paramus, NJ – Bergen Community College's Men's Cross Country team is full with high expectations after last year's 2015 Region XIX Championship Title. The team is looking to continue to build and repeat last year's championship run.
Returns from last year's team include Connor McGillick (Saddle Brook, NJ), Profirio Olivas (Garfield, NJ), Isaiah Peller (Englewood, NJ) and Daniel Silver (Fair Lawn, NJ). They bring experience after winning the the region title and competing at nationals last year.
Coach Deana Dedovitch continues to recruit excellent talent. This year she brings in a talented freshmen class, which includes Steven Almanzar (Garfield, NJ), Hector Cruz (Paterson, NJ), Andy Jaipersaud (Bogota, NJ), Joe Lopez (Hackensack, NJ), Nikko Reyes (Bergenfield, NJ), and Malhar Vyas (Wallington, NJ).
The team is a solid team and anyone of the runners can finish above the rest. The Bulldogs won the region title last year without a top runner in the top 8. This year, the team looks and are preparing to improve on their individual times and team times in all their races.
USTFCCCA National Ranking have Bergen ranked 3rd in the nation as of 9/21.
The team will now travel to The 15th Goldey – Beacom College Fall Classic on 9/22.
