Bergen Wins Series from Ocean
Bergen wins three game series 2-1 after a walk-off two run home-run from Isaiah Acosta.
Paramus, NJ - The Bergen Bulldogs keep making the season magical after defeating Ocean 2-1 in a three game series. Bergen now holds a 24-7 record on the season.
First game - Bergen Loses 11-8. Jose Sierra gets his third loss of the season and is now 3-3 on the season. Jose pitched a 2.2 innings allowing only 3 hits on 7BB and struck out 5. Bergen bats tried to comeback, but the damage was done. Jonnathan Cepeda had a good day at the plate going 3-5 with a double and two runs scored. Bergen out hit Ocean 14 to 11, most of the damage was done by the pitching staff by allowing 9 walks on the day.
Second game - Bergen wins 8-3. Aryed Garcia record his sixth win of the year and pitched a 7 inning complete game. Aryed allowed 6 hits, 2 BB, 3 ER and 8K on the day. Offensively, Joseph Mitchell had a hot stick going 2-2 with 2 doubles, 2BB and a run scored. Dylan Habeeb and Kelvin Cruz had two RBI. Kelvin Cruz did had a monstrous home run early in the game to pull away with the lead.
Third game - Bergen wins 5-3 in extra innings. In an epic pitching duel, Jeremie Torres was outstanding and pitched a strong 6.2 innings with one out from a win, when Ocean rallied and drove in the tying run in the final inning. Josue Ruiz came in after Ocean tied and struck out 4 batters in a row. Bergen had last licks and with two outs and man on first, freshman Isaiah Acosta stepped up to the plate and did not let the first pitch get by him. He took the first pitch deep into left center and into the woods. It was a walk-off homerun for the Bulldogs, which have the Bulldogs the series. Josue Ruiz earned his first win of the year with his perfect pitching. Isaiah Acosta finished with a superb game going 3-4 with 2 runs, a double, home run and three RBI. He was clutch all game and helped the Bulldogs continue their success in the conference.
