Myrtle Beach Spring Trip

Paramus, NJ- Bergen Community College's Baseball team returned from Myrtle Beach, SC Spring Trip with a 3-3 record.  Their record is now 7-4 going into region play.   

Catholic University JV 3-5 Loss

Firstbaseman, Sway Russell, goes 3-3 with a run and RBI.  Julio Acosta & Eamon Catherina both had two hits apiece. Eamon had two doubles and two stolen bases.  Chris Martucci pitche 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs and 5 K.

Lewis & Clark CC 6-5 Win

Jose Sierra gets his first win in college baseball by going 5.2 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 K.  Sway Russell continues his hot hitting by going 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored.  Yefry Ramirez had a 1-2 day with a run and 2 RBI.  

Danville CC 7-6 Win

Sway Russell goes perfect going 4-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Yefrey Ramirez goes 2-4 with 2 R and RBI.  Chris Martucci goes 2-4 with two RBI.  Kenneth Stewart gets his first college win going 2.2 innings allowing 4 hits and no runs.

Black Hawk College-Moline 1-10 & 4-10 Losses

Game one- Sway Russell on a five game hitting streak.  Wander Jimenez take the loss and bringing his record to 2-1.

Game two- Sway Russell hits in his sixth straight game going 2-2 with a run.  Eamon Catherina goes 2-3 with two runs scored.  Chris Martucci goes 1-3 with 2 RBI.  Cristian Cefalo takes his second loss of the season.

Columbia-Greene CC 14-1 Win

Sway Russel continues on his hitting streak going 2 for 2 with 2 Runs and 2 RBI.  Eamon Catherina & Christopher Martucci both go 2-2 with 2 runs and 2 RBI each.  Fernando Santana DH also had a 2-2 day with a Walk, Run and RBI.  Brian Peguero joined the hit parade going 2-3 with a monster homerun, 1 Run and 3 RBI.  Joseph Baez also had two hits and a Run on the day.  Memfy De Leon gets the win for the Bulldogs by pitching 2 innings allowing 1 hit and 3 BB.

Bergen will now play a three game series against conference and region opponent, Brookdale Jersey Blues this weekend.   Go Bulldogs!
