SECOND DAY AT NATIONALS
Bergen's, sophomore, Camille Calupad, makes history in the Pole Vault event. Calupad is the 2017 NJCAA III Pole Vault Champion. The Bulldogs first Women's Pole Vault Champion in 50 years of competition.
Paramus, NJ- Women's Track & Field team competed in the 2017 NJCAA National Tournament. On the second day of competition, Bergen's team is in 6th place and look to move up on the final day of competition.
Camille Calupad (Paramus, NJ) brought the gold home to Paramus and the Bulldogs. Camille leaped a distance of 2.81 meters in the Pole Vault event to earn her first place finish and First Team 2017 NJCAA All-American. She is the first Pole Vaulter in the history of Bergen Community College to finish a champion in the Pole Vault event. The sophomore is also an excellent student and will be nominated several academic accolades. Congrats again to Camille, for a great finish to her athletic career in track & field for the Bulldogs.
Congrats to Justine Conca who finished in 4th place in the 5,000 Meter Race with a time of 20:26.47.
Justine Conca & Jessica Reyes were not able to qualify for finals in the 800 Meter race. Justine finished in 10th place and missing the finals by one place.
Katherine Helewa competed in her first national event. She finished in 14th place in Discus event with a distance of 20.82 meters.
Bergen still have several student-athletes that can help the team score points and move up the leaderboard. Go Bulldogs!!!
