Women's Basketball at Bergen had many highlights besides their great run to the Region XIX Final Four. Bergen's Head Coach, Tracy Green, hit a milestone after winning her 100th game of her college coaching career. Sophomore, Cherie Smedile, not only scored a milestone 1000 career point but also broke Bergen's all-time scoring record held by Karen Smith of 1179 points. Cherie went on to score 1,222 points on the year to set a new all-time scoring record at Bergen CC. Finally, Bergen's legendary coach, Dr. Rose Marie Battaglia, has been recently honored to be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame for her incredible career as a women's basketball coach.
Bergen will be having a women's basketball alumni game on Thursday, March 22 at 6:30pm. The alumni game will feature a three point shooting contest and free throw contest, along with a game. We hope to have Coach Battaglia in attendance at the alumni game. The alumni game will be sponsored by the BCC Athletic Department and the Women's History Month Committee.
