Sophomore Day!
Bergen Athletics Department celebrate Sophomores Brett Fiore and Joseph Estevez
PARAMUS, NJ -- Bergen Bulldogs Men's basketball lost a rough game to Camden County College 83-66 Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs now fall to 7-15 on the season. Bergen had just ended a 5 game losing streak with a victory in the last contest. However, this loss makes 6 losses in their last 7 games.
The day started off on a nice note with Bergen's Sophomore Day ceremony where the sophomores were honored prior to the game. Each was presented with a few gifts and their families were invited down on the court to take part. The game started off close and was back and forth for most of the first half. Camden started to pull away in the last 3 minutes of the first half. Bergen trailed by as many as 15 points and went into half time down by 11, 37-26. Camden only pulled away further as the second half got other way. Bergen never really got close at any time in the second half trailing by as many as 21 points late. When the final buzzer sounded, the Bulldogs found themselves on the wrong side of a 83-66 final score.
"We got out played, we got out coached, it was a total team loss," said Coach Osbourne, "We didn't follow the scouting report and that's it."
The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday night with another conference game at home vs. Union County College. The Owls are 9-15 overall this year but have been very hot recently going 9-1 in their last 10 games.
